North Loop is full of great eats, drinks, and thrift stores. (Google Maps)

Nestled between North Lamar and Interstate 35, just south of Koenig Lane, North Loop is home to quirky, fun, and unique places that uphold Austin's motto, “Keep It Weird.” With its vast array of vintage shops, good eats, and interesting bars, North Loop is a can't-miss Austin neighborhood.

👜 Shop Vintage and Thrift

For those with discerning tastes (or those who want to live out their ‘80s montage fantasies), make your way to North Loop Boulevard for Austin mainstays Big Bertha’s Paradise, Ermine Vintage, and Room Service Vintage for funky decor and cool furniture. A short walk down the road are Blue Velvet for even more eclectic wares, and Revival Vintage, where you can finally find that chair that ties the room together. And don’t forget to check out Top Drawer Thrift on Airport Boulevard for home decor, clothes, and plenty of knick knacks.

📖 Browse Records and Books

Nothing like a good book and cool music to help you unwind. Peruse amazing music finds at Breakaway Records or find your new favorite book at BookWoman (woman-owned!) or Monkeywrench Books. Get ready for some sore thumbs!

🌮 Have a Nosh

If you love food like me, you’ll enjoy eating your way through the many restaurants in North Loop. For breakfast, stop by Nervous Charlie’s for excellent bagels or The Omelettry with its funky, diner vibes, and delicious omelets. Need a quick bite? Tyson’s Tacos and Jewboy Burgers not only have great food, but also cute patios. For more romantic settings, check out Home Slice for old school pizzeria vibes, Foreign & Domestic with their chef-driven menu, or Komé for amazing sushi and Japanese fare.

🍻 Grab a Drink

Quench your thirst with a delicious margarita at Workhorse or grab a shot at one of Austin’s most divey of bars, Barfly’s. Satisfy your beer craving at Lazarus Brewing Co. and their pretty beer garden. End the day with refreshing cocktails at intimate spots The Tigress Pub or DrinkWell.
