Ahh, The Domain. Austin’s sprawling outdoor mall located miles from downtown and just south of Wells Branch is a polarizing spot – its fans are big fans and its haters are huge haters. No matter which side you fall on, it’s good to know how to approach the area. Here’s our guide:

🥵 Go Early and During the Week

Since you’ll be walking outside, pay attention to the weather before trekking out to The Domain. We recommend visiting earlier in the day when temperatures are cooler and avoiding weekend visits when the mall is busy. Apply sunscreen, bring a water bottle, and wear comfortable walking shoes!

📍 Map Out Your Trip

We recommend checking out a map of the mall so you can park (for free!) closest to your destination and not get stuck wandering around!

How Austinites Really Feel About the Domain

😆 Go for the Comedy

Cap City Comedy Club is located in The Domain, just across from the Dior store, of course, and is well worth a visit. The club has incredible lineups and you can eat and drink during a show.

🍽️ Food Options Abound

Bonus tip: Pop by Rosen's Bagel Co. on your way to or from The Domain – the restaurant is nearby on Burnet Road. The bagels are delicious and the shop sells latkes all year long.

🛍️ Local and Luxury Shopping Is Everywhere

If you’ve been meaning to pick up something at Chanel or Louis Vuitton, The Domain is the place for you. But the mall includes lots of local spots like Yeti and Nina Berenato jewelry.

👋 Enjoy!
