We love a neighborhood guide. We love a prideful neighborhood guide even more. It’s still Pride month here in Austin and we’re shepherding you through Fourth Street, where a number of the city’s gay bars are located, in the Warehouse District, in downtown Austin.

🥞 Where To Brunch: Halcyon

Visit Halcyon, 218 West Fourth St., on Saturdays at 2 p.m. for “Brunch with the Babes,” a weekly drag and burlesque show. Seating starts at 1:30 p.m. and the show is free to attend. Post up with a Thai iced coffee ($5) and a breakfast sandwich ($10) and watch the show hosted by Maxine LaQueene and Eileen Dover. The show is for those 18 years old and up.

🪩 Where To Dance: Rain on 4th and Highland Lounge

Do you want to dance? Like, really dance? Rain on 4th, 217 West Fourth St., and Highland Lounge, 404 Colorado St., are for you. Both have true club vibes and the music is chef’s kiss wonderful. Come prepared to sweat!

👑 Where To See a Show: Oilcan Harry’s

Oilcan Harry’s, 211 West Fourth St., is Austin’s oldest LGBTQ+ entertainment venue, having been open since 1990. It has weekly drag shows, karaoke nights, and bingo. (This is where I saw my first drag show in college 🥹and I really can’t recommend it enough!)

🍾 Where To Drink: Coconut Club

If you’re not feeling up for dancing, try out Coconut Club’s ample roof seating. The club, located at 310B Colorado St., has a couple dance floors, but still has lots of room to have a conversation. You may just need to speak louder than usual.

🍔 Bonus 🍔 Where To Grab a Pre-Game Bite: Iron Bear

OK, Iron Bear is not on Fourth Street, but it is within the Warehouse District and just a quick walk from all of our recommendations, so it’s getting a spot on our list! The kitchen, located at 301 West Sixth St., is open until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and you should absolutely get a “Sleepy Bear” smash burger ($15).
