East Sixth Street: The side of town that used to be a semi-scary stretch of cool dive bars has become a walkable nine-block mini district with a little bit of everything. New construction in the area east of Interstate 35 has brought an influx of bars, hotels, eateries, boutiques, and has even revived a few established favorites.

🍜 Hungry?

East Sixth has always been home to great food trucks, but a slew of great restaurants ranging from fine dining to late night comfort food are increasingly available. Standouts are Il Brutto for great Italian, and Canje for Black Caribbean cuisine. If laid back comfort food is more your style, Uptown Sports Club is a must. Of course, you can’t beat Ramen Tatsuya and Cisco's for quick-ish bites.

🥂 Get Your Drank On

This area has a diverse range of options that provide a little something for everyone. Dive bars in particular are an East Sixth staple. Favorites on my list are Violet Crown Social Club, The Grackle, and Low Down Lounge. If speakeasies are more your vibe, try Milonga Room or Whisler's. But wait! There’s more! Breweries! Lazarus Brewing Co and Zilker Brewing Company & Taproom both have drinks, food, and lots of seating!

🎉 So Much More To Do!
