Austin’s version of fall is fully here, which means you can eat soup comfortably and might even need it to warm up one of these days. Soup is just a really good time and we’re here with recommendations. Here’s where to eat soup in Austin:

🥣 Tan My, 1601 Ohlen Road

Tan My is one of the best restaurants in Austin and we’re not kidding. Stop in for pho ($15.25) when the craving strikes. The broth is good enough to eat on its own, but you can choose proteins like brisket, chicken, shrimp, beef meatballs, tofu, and more.

🦐 Uptown Sports Club, 1200 E. Sixth St.

Doesn’t gumbo sound so good? Uptown Sports Club has a great gumbo for a dreary Austin day. You can order a cup for $7 or a bowl for $9. It comes with chicken, sausage, and rice. Make sure to ask for extra saltines!

🥥 Thai Fresh, 909 W. Mary St.

The tom kha soup at Thai Fresh is great for when you have allergies, when it’s cold, and when it’s rainy. Called "coconut soup” on the menu, the dish includes mushrooms, lemongrass, cilantro, your choice of protein, and Thai chiles. It’s fresh enough to make you wonder if that’s where the restaurant got its name, and just spicy enough to help a stuffed nose. A cup is $6.75 and a bowl is $11.50.

🍥 Ramen Del Barrio, 1700 W. Parmer Lane

Can you really have a soup list without a ramen mention? Ramen Del Barrio is one of those places that can only happen in Texas. The restaurant combines Japanese and Mexican flavors and the result is awesome. Try the carnitas tonkotsu or the pozole carnitas (both $17.50), and enjoy the tortilla strips! The restaurant is located inside Hana World Food Court.

🍲 Soupleaf Hot Pot, 6929 Airport Blvd.

Bring your friends to Soupleaf Hot Pot and make sure everyone is hungry! This hot pot spot is all you can eat. Prepare for a medley of veggies, meats, broths, and more. Dinner starts at $29.
