A most exclusive neighborhood near Zilker Park has inches-tall homes shaped like the Texas Capitol, luxurious pools, bridges, tree houses, basketball courts, and beaches. It’s Zilker Botanical Garden’s Woodland Faerie Trail.

The trail winds throughout the garden, which is located just east of MoPac Boulevard at 2220 Barton Springs Road, and includes 100 designs. The homes, which are made by local groups and artists, pop up once a year and this summer, they’re on view until July 12.

A trail of tiny homes fit for fairies feels like a thing that can only happen in Austin. It’s weird! It’s cute! It’s arty! If you’re looking for something to do with your kids or yourself this summer, this is a perfect fit.

You don’t need a special ticket to see the delightful homes, either. Go peek on a regular visit! Admission starts at $3 for kids and is $8 for adults.

After touring the homes, vote for your favorite one online. The winner will be announced at a trail closing ceremony on July 12. The ceremony starts at 9 a.m. and includes arts and crafts, story walks, face painting, and more.

Here’s a look at some of the fairy houses!
