Perhaps you have noticed it is boiling hot outside. Temperatures climbed to 109 degrees on Wednesday for crying out loud! Even though it’s hot enough to make the water at Barton Springs Pool feel temperate, there are ways to stay cool outside. Enter: Spots with the best misters in town. Our criteria for this was “places Nikki doesn’t feel like she’s getting spit on the entire time,” so you know they’re good.

🌴 Kinda Tropical

Enjoy a large mango margarita ($14) at one of our favorite East Austin spots, Kinda Tropical. The bar, 3501 East Seventh St., has an indoor and outdoor area and is open 11 a.m. to midnight daily.

👋 The Long Goodbye

A newer Austin spot, The Long Goodbye, 2808 Manor Road, does $6 margaritas, micheladas, and mimosas on Sundays starting at 11 a.m.

🤠 The Dainty Dillo

Go get your live music fix at the Dainty Dillo, 3201 East Cesar Chavez St. On this weekend’s lineup: Alex Lugwa & Tony Garossino on Saturday at 7 p.m. and 80H Project on Sunday at 3 p.m.

🐶 Yard Bar

Yard Bar, 6700 Burnet Road, is the perfect spot for you and your doggies! They have a dog park your pal can hang in while you sip on something cold.

🌚 Moontower Saloon

An Austin classic. Moontower Saloon, 10212 Menchaca Road, has tons of seating, food trucks, live music, and is just far enough outside of downtown.

🦆 Sour Duck Market

If all you care about is good bread, Sour Duck Market, 1815 East Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., is the spot for you. Sour Duck offers up coffee, drinks, food, and yummy pastries.

🍕 Home Slice on North Loop

Good pizza, misters, and room for your kids to run around? Sounds heavenly. Home Slice Pizza’s North Loop location, 501 East 53rd St., has a great outdoor area with grass and plenty of indoor seating if the heat is too much!
