It’s Halloween! Whether you’re planning to hit the town all dressed up, or you’re taking the kiddos trick-or-treating, there is PLENTY to do. Austinites love to keep it spooky, so you’re bound to stumble into fun, but I have a couple of options for ya just in case.

🎃 Best Trick-or-Treating Spots!

Now, as someone that makes it my business to know where the good treats are, it’s imperative to know which neighborhoods have the good stuff! Mueller is a GREAT place to start your night. It’s walkable, there are fun decorations on lots of the houses, and it’s really kid friendly, so your lil monsters can frolic with other lil monsters! Another trick-or-treating gold mine is the Brentwood/Crestview/Wooten area. You really can’t go wrong anywhere in those neighborhoods north of Koenig and East of Burnet Road.

🍸 Adult-o-Ween More Your Style?

OK, I know. CHEESY. But if you’re more “The Witches of Eastwick” and less “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” I’ve got you covered! Nickel City transforms to Moe’s Tavern from “The Simpsons” during their month-long Halloween pop-up. There’s a specialized menu for drinks and food, and there are all sorts of Simpsons themed shenanigans happening inside! Gibson Street Bar does the same thing with a Twisted Carnival pop up!

🎉 Best of Both Worlds

If you need a little bit of everything, the Cherrywood/French Place neighborhood in East Austin is where you need to be. Things start off with an annual neighborhood parade at 5:30 p.m. on the corner of French Place and Manor Road. The parade leads you into a neighborhood festival that everyone participates in. There’s trick or treating, adult beverages, and a costume contest!! Getting spooky and meeting your neighbors? Sign me up!

📣 I know everyone else loves Christmas, but for me, Halloween is the most wonderful time of the year!
