🦩 John Waters Live at Paramount Theatre
This one sounds nearly too good to be true. John Waters, the John Waters, will be in Austin this weekend for a Q&A and double feature of his films at Paramount Theatre. Waters wrote and directed cult films including “Pink Flamingos,” “Female Trouble,” and “Hairspray,” which inspired the hit Broadway musical and 2007 film adaptation. The Paramount is showing “Pink Flamingos” on June 8 at 7 p.m., and then Waters will come on at 8:45 p.m. for questions. The night will end with a screening of “Female Trouble” at 9:30 p.m. Tickets start at $30.

🎥 Pride at Alamo Drafthouse
OK this isn’t one event but a slew of events to check out throughout the month. Alamo Drafthouse is showing some of its favorite LGBTQ+ films including “But I’m a Cheerleader,” “The Birdcage,” and “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,” and pairing them with special menus. Movies are the best way to cool off during the summer without having to get wet if you ask me! Check out the schedule online for prices.
