As you know, Austin celebrates Pride two months after the rest of the country. We’re just weird like that. 😉 That means this month is packed with fun Pride events. Don’t worry, we’ll help you fill out your calendar!
Here are the Pride events we’re eyeing before August is up:
👑 ATX Pride Kick-Off Drag Brunch
Verbena Food & Drink downtown is hosting a drag show on Aug. 17. Tickets are $25.09.
🛍️ Big Gay Austin Pride Bazaar
Rain on Fourth Street is hosting an evening of shopping from your favorite queer vendors, like The Little Gay Shop, on Aug. 17 starting at 4 p.m. The event is free to attend.
🛼 Austin Pride Week Rainbow Skate
Visit Playland Skate in North Austin on Aug. 18 for a night of rollerblading, featuring DJ Chorizo Funk. Entry is $14 at the door and includes a skate rental.
🎥 PRISM 37: aGLIFF’s Annual LGBTQ+ Film Festival
This year’s festival runs Aug. 21-25 with screenings at Violet Crown Cinemas and Alamo Drafthouse Mueller, among others. Badges start at $25.
🪩 Futch Fetish: An All-Lesbian Drag Show
Dress as your lesbian awakening on Aug. 21 and go to Cheer Up Charlie’s downtown for live music, vendors, and speciality drinks. There may be a cover at the door.
🤠 STAMPEDE: Queer Linedance Party
Neon Rainbows is hosting a line dancing party at 29th Street Ballroom near The University of Texas at Austin on Aug. 22. Country Fried Dance lessons start at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.
🏳️🌈 Austin Pride 2025: Silence = Death
The city’s premiere Pride event features a parade and festival on Aug. 23 at Fiesta Gardens. Both events are free to attend!
🏳️⚧️ ATX Trans Pride
After the parade on Aug. 23, head over to Cheer Up Charlie’s downtown for ATX Trans Pride. The event features lots of live music and goes until 2 a.m. RSVP is recommended.
🤵 Queer Prom (and Allies)
Close out Pride Month with a Queer Prom on Aug. 31 at the 04 Center on South Lamar. Tickets are $28.52 and organizers suggest wearing what was in style the decade of your high school prom!
👙 YEEHAWTIES: Labor Gay Reprise!
Another way to end the month: go for a swim at Austin Motel. The final Yeehawties of the summer is on Aug. 31 at 2 p.m. The swim is free to attend.
